Like most folks who’ve been bitten by the water ski bug, I dreamed of having my own lake and when I met my life partner Harald, an elite slalom skier, my search began in earnest. By a combination of good timing and good luck, I was able to make that dream come true and in the spring of 2014 I acquired this land with the hopes of building my dream water ski lake on it. 7 years later, we have a thriving water ski club and are constantly making improvements to the site. We now have decided to add some sites for rent to share this incredible property with others outside the water ski community.
Site #1 is a small cabin that sleeps 3 and site #2 is a small houseboat that has been converted to a bunkie.
Onsite activities include use of a canoe and paddleboard. Use of a kid's swingset and olympic trampoline. Swimming and fishing.
Pets are welcome, campfires are permitted.

There are plenty of very cool areas along the trail where guests are able to participate in forest bathing/meditation or can just relax and listen to the wind rustling through the leaves of the trees.
We have a couple of very gentle horses on our farm, that if anyone wishes, can schedule a time meet them and do some therapy grooming. There is also a small flock of egg laying hens that are quite social.

Once you have settled in you may head out for dinner at one of Port Hope's many wonderful restaurants or you can arrange to have dinner prepared for you in our Screaming Goat Cafe upon request.Enjoy the peace and quiet of a country evening. Walk the farm trails as the sunsets. Relax as you watch the night sky light up with stars and when you are ready to turn in for the night head to your private space inside the alpaca enclosure and settle into a big, comfy queen-size bed.Listen to the sounds of nature; perhaps even some coyotes off in the distance. Our livestock guardian dogs keep the farm safe and the alpacas will keep watch over you, humming contently, as you drift off to sleep. If you allow maybe our barn cat "JeffandSue" will join you for a cuddle.Wake up with the sun or our rooster and enjoy our super delicious farm-style breakfast at 9.30 am as the alpacas are fed by the farm staff.Spend your day at Haute Goat enjoying some of the wonderful experiences before heading back home.Do not forget to bring your camera because you will want to capture every memorable moment to share with your family and friends. This is your opportunity to truly be "one with the herd!"Please note that there are no Farm experiences scheduled on Mondays and Tuesdays. Not suitable for kids as much as we love kids to enjoy the farm life, the Alpaca Sleepover is probably not the right experience for kids under 9. It’s a limited area in the alpaca pen, with a queen-size mattress and only limited space beside it. In addition to that alpaca, behavior can be disappointing for children.Alpacas are very curious animals and they want to know who you are. If you sit/stand still they will come close to you and maybe give you a kiss. But they are also extremely timid and shy and do not like to be petted. But if you earn their trust they will let you touch them.

Weekend Trip to The Rustic Shack in the Wood's
Beautiful and isolated with forests and rolling hills. Plenty of wildlife around from big to small. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an isolated getaway that's still in close proximity to the city.

3 nights at Spirit Ridge Acres
Absolutely Loved our 3 night stay at Spirit Ridge. It was our 2.5 yr olds first cabin experience and she had the BEST time. Arnold and Angela were the most wonderful hosts. Both Attentive and caring. We will definitely be back!

2 nights at Villa Vida Loca
Absolutely amazing property and even more amazing hosts! They truly thought of everything to make the stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. You could show up with practically nothing, and between everything they provide and the town down the road, you would be more than fine. We had a group of 4 so we booked both sites and no matter which you pick, you’ll have a cute, cozy and comfortable stay! The highlight for my friends was the hot tub, but I personally loved the sauna and outdoor shower the most. Truly a unique and magical experience to have a long hot shower while looking up at the trees and sky. A lovely summer experience, can’t wait to see what it’s like in the winter!!

Weekend Trip to Island Spirits
Great place for multigenerational families to hang out together, kids occupied themselves with animals roaming the island, grandparents told stories over the firepit and we were able to find secret spots on the island to chill without the kids. Thanks for having us, we'll be back if we are nearby next time

Weekend Trip to Spirit Ridge Acres
Spirit Ridge is such a nice spot, it is very private and has a feeling of being remote but with great amenities and convenience. It is close to town and also a quick drive to Fenelon Falls. Angela and her husband are wonderful hosts that made us feel extremely welcome, and let us spend time in the pasture with their horses! The accomodation is well thought out and cozy, I would absolutely stay here again. It is such a nice spot and nice area but at an accessible cost! Highly reccommend! 10/10

5 nights at Higgins Farm in the Forest
Tucked away in the woods is a gem in Uxbridge. Decompress and unwind from overstimulation while having the comforts of home at your fingertips. This tiny home has a beautiful rustic feel with lots of windows to peer outside into the woods. Anna and her family are great hosts. It's not easy to find a place that will accommodate a family of four with kids. There is a lovely fire pit just in front and a gas grill bbq. If it gets a little too warm for your liking there is an air conditioner and a wood burning fireplace for cold days ahead. No matter what is the weather, this place has you covered. The decor is warm and cozy. There are a lot of surprises to find here including a welcoming parade of ducks. It's not too far from trails, beaches, farms or grocery stores. Hop on over it's worth the ride! Thank you Anna and family!

2 nights at Spirit Ridge Acres
Our stay at this cabin was absolutely incredible and everything we could have hoped for. From the moment we arrived, it felt like the perfect little escape from everyday life. Tucked away in the woods, the cabin was peaceful, private, and unbelievably cozy—the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed and never want to leave.
The cabin itself was beautiful, spotless, and clearly cared for with a lot of attention to detail. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay while still keeping that warm, rustic cabin atmosphere. Waking up surrounded by trees, enjoying the quiet mornings, and coming back to such a cozy space at the end of the day made the entire trip feel special.
The location was easily one of our favourite parts. It was wonderfully quiet and secluded, and being surrounded by nature made it feel like a genuine getaway. Whether we were relaxing inside or simply enjoying the peacefulness of the woods, it was exactly the kind of place where you can slow down and forget about everything else for a while.
Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations, and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into making this cabin feel welcoming and comfortable for guests. We left wishing we could have stayed longer and would come back again without hesitation.
If you’re looking for a beautiful, peaceful, cozy cabin in the woods to relax, recharge, and make some great memories, this place is an absolute gem. Easy 5/5 and one of those stays you’ll remember forever

4 nights at T's Pond
My husband and I stayed here in the little boathouse and we'll definitely be staying here again. If you like cozy and dont need a lot of room, this is the perfect spot. It's so quiet and peaceful. We like doing absolutely nothing, so we spent our time sitting under the gazebo, fishing, spending time in the water on our floaties, and watching people water ski. It's fun to bird watch as well. Keep your eyes out for belted kingfishers diving in the water for food.
