This expansive western state offers a variety of ecosystems for outdoor activities, from high desert plateaus near Grand Junction to untouched Rocky Mountain National Park outside Denver. Here you'll find world-famous ski resorts, legendary horseback riding, mountain biking near ancient hot springs, and some of the nation's top rafting and fly fishing rivers. Colorado is also ideal for glamping options, particularly for those who want to experience the beauty of nature with some creature comforts like wifi, linens, kitchenettes, hot tubs, and wood-burning stoves. Even campers swap tent campsites for glamping tents once temperatures begin to drop. Colorado winters are cold and snowy, perfect for luxury glamping experiences such as cozying up in a heated yurt after a long day of snowshoeing or watching snowflakes fall from the comfort of a secluded treehouse with a fire pit out front. Whether you’re visiting Vail, Cañon City, or Colorado Springs, the best glamping getaways are cozy, quiet, and wild.
In Colorado, glamping is a type of outdoor stay combining camping's nature setting with the luxury and convenience of comforts like beds, warm showers, or electricity. When glamping in Colorado, there's no need to bring your own tent—instead, glampers may stay the night in a cabin, a vintage Airstream, a canvas bell tent, a yurt, or even a treehouse.

"First time Hipcamper and A-Lodge visitor here, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re traveling to the Boulder area. The tent platforms were easy to get to and spaced far enough apart for privacy and generally a nice break from setting up a tent on a gravel pad. WiFi was stable throughout my visit and I was able to get some work done before heading home."

7. Neverland Camp Wilder

Nederland, CO · 3 sites · Tents, RVs, Lodging
Welcome to Camp Wilder! We are an off-the-beaten-path camp offering peace and solitude. The cabin is very special to my family and me. It was passed down as a mining claim from my grandmother who founded it in the '60s. The vision for the land was simply perfect. A small 10 x 10 cabin with the whole mountain to explore and whoever they wished to bring with them. The town of Nederland is 10 minutes down the road where you can fish at Baker Reservoir. Lots of fun little stores in town to keep the family busy. Wildlife is everywhere up by the cabin/campsite, always remember don't leave food lying around with lots of great things to look for around the magical town of Nederland. The cabin sleeps up to 8 with the futon downstairs being very comfortable and 3" foam upstairs in the loft for more sleeping area. Bring your sleeping bags to stay cozy at night. There are lanterns inside to light up your night with a wood stove to keep you warm at night. The ground around it is sloped so you may have a hard time setting up any tents around the cabin. The grocery store is in Nederland where you can buy food, Coleman green propane bottles, gallon jugs of water and wood. There is a 3 burner Coleman, stove to cook on with limited pots & pans as well as silverware. Road disclaimer, the road to the cabin is one lane dirt road. The drive up to the cabin is pretty good but the turn onto the single dirt road to the cabin has a slight dip, if you have a low-clearance car it may bottom out when you are turning so be careful. No Trailers. They will not be able to turn around once there. Recommend vehicles with AWD. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles. Park on the left. Hike down to the cabin between yellow stakes. We are @ 10,000 feet and it is a slight hike to the cabin. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles When leaving please make sure both door locks are locked, put the key in the lock box and mix the code for the next camper.

Weekend Trip to Placer Camp
Had a great experience here. Stayed at glamping site C and brought my dog. The hill/climb to this site was definitely more strenuous than others but it was worth it for a bit more privacy. Tim has put a lot of thought and detail into developing the sites. The glamping site really did have everything needed; heater inside the tent, campfire, camping stove, cookware, dishes, cutlery, water, camping chairs, lanterns, etc. Each site also has a bear box so you don’t have to worry about taking food to your car at night. The 13’ tent was big enough that my dog’s kennel fit inside and it still felt like there was plenty of room. The port-o-let is about 300’ down the hill from this and was clean.
Tim was very helpful and accommodating. We had some issues with the heater in the tent (temps were 35F overnight) but Tim concerned himself with ensuring we had solutions and warmth during our stay.
I recommend and would stay here again.

As usual, People of the Honey provided a magical setting for an incredible experience. This time I brought my kiddos and we stayed in the tipi. They thought the tipi & the campfire, host Leaf & his guinea hens, and the full moon were all incredible (so did I!). It was a packed house this time and everyone was respectful of each other. So much love and gratitude for this place!

It was a pleasant cabin. It was missing 2 lite bulbs in the ceiling lamp & the space heater was antiquated. I would suggest a cabin number to be more visable at nite as I couldn't see it on the post. The bath house was nice & clean & hot h20. The coffee was bit strong & it was available in the AM. I would stay there again.. & it was very quiet.

We loved our visit to Yurtopia! It was one of the most unique experiences I’ve had camping or “glamping”! It was also only about an hour to Rocky Mountain National Park! Shawn was very accommodating and responsive and you can tell he loves and takes pride in both the Yurt itself and the land around it. We had a full night of rain one of the days we were there and everything held up well! However it seems owning a yurt is a perpetually ongoing process and the site and accommodations are PRIMITIVE! As long as you know what you’re signing up for and READ THE RULES AND INFO that the host took the time to write up you will have a wonderful stay. I know we did and I would recommend this site to anybody looking for a get away and chance to unplug for a bit. Thank you Shawn!

Weekend Trip to Crystal Ranch
We enjoyed our stay at the stargazer a-frame! Had a nice evening sitting on the deck in the provided chairs. We paid extra for sheets and pillows, and they were cozy enough to keep us warm on a September night with the a-frame opened up! The portapotty was incredibly clean - serviced weekly - and they even had a handwashing station with foot pump water and soap, such a luxury! Note there are multiple hipcamp sites on the property, and there are other houses not that far away, so it was less private than some other places we stayed. But it was convenient, clean, and comfortable. Would stay again!

2 nights at Neverland Camp Wilder
Beautiful view from the cabin! We made it up the dirt road in a Honda Civic with only some minor bottoming out. The cabin had lanterns, toilet paper, a garbage can, and other necessities. A ladder stored outside can be brought in to access the loft.

2 nights at Tin Can Camp: Adventure Base
Awesome little camp with great hosts. We got lucky and were able to book last minute for labor day weekend. The camp is very well taken care of, was very clean and well marked. The cabins are absolutely adorable and perfect sized for a 2 person base camp, but definitely could have fit 4. Has some nice amenities for a primitive camp, solar power for lights and basic charging of cell phones. Nice little kitchen space for cooking with most basic items like plates bowls, cups, and things for cooking. The sleeping loft could get a little warm but the padding was comfortable. There was a heater but it wasn't needed. The outhouse is a fancy porta potty but was very clean and well kept. Great access to trail systems, and absolutely amazing views of the night sky, with gorgeous sunrises

1 night at People of the Honey
Leaf is an incredible host! We had a wonderful time. My 6 yo daughter loved staying in the sacred tipi and building several warming fires. We will return again. Vega
